Nice place. Particularly for vegans and vegetarians. I never tried 'Soul Food' before but I wanted to try something new. All the rave about the good food here is true! The food was very flavorful. I really enjoyed it. I had the Rasta Pasta and the Mac and Vegan cheese. If I'm ever visiting this part of Virginia again, I'm gonna want to come back here to try out other interesting vegan items on the menu.
I regularly recommend people come here--vegan or not--and they ALL absolutely LOVE the food at Desmond's! I've been coming here for years, and I've never eaten a thing that wasn't 11/10 (yes, eleven out of ten). My favorite is the guava-glazed lentil balls with the sweet and tangy sauce that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. I'll drive the 40 minutes from my home just to get food here...it's that good!
Amazing plant based/vegan soul food. And non vegans would love it just as much. Best BBQ Sammie ever. And the Mac n cheese was seasoned. Well. 🔥 Would eat here daily if I was local 😋
