I have searched to find vegan food when visiting St. Louis on several occasions with varying, lack-luster results (I will name no names!) and was starting to give up hope; but now that I have found Dirty Vegan Shack, I will search no longer!!! Not only was the service warm and welcoming, but the food was PHENOMENAL. I’m not exaggerating when I say the Filthy Philly was one of the best meals of my life-not just one of the best vegan meals…I had tears in my eyes-it was THAT GOOD. In addition to the Filthy Philly, we ordered a Taco Supreme, Shroom Melt, Fiesty Fries, and Tots-all cooked to perfection! PLUS I asked about the carrot hot dog, it was explained to me and I said, “I’ll have to try that next time”, but to my surprise, there was one with peppers in our order when we picked it up!!! That’s love. They are closing for the season (until Mid-March) bc it is a pick-up window with outdoor seating only, but I CANNOT wait until my next visit…..I’m already dreaming about the crab Mac-n-Cheese special!!! Made a long trek from more than an hour away to try this place based on reviews. DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The smell coming from the order window made us ravenous. We ordered the dirty tots, and Im ashamed to admit we hovered over the dish devouring mouthfuls of smothered tot goodness, (the portion a large meal for one, very hearty starter for two). We also each ordered the shoom melt and hubby had to try the dirty hotdog (alchemized from carrot to hotdog even Chicagoans would admire). Everything so delicious we were glad she gave us extra napkins. Although at this point we were both stuffed, we couldnt neglect following this sinful meal with her Biscoff cheesecake. Heavy breathing. In our greed we did not take pictures. I don't think you could go wrong with any order this place makes. If you have been good, eating so clean, and want to be a dirty vegan this place is a must. Every morsel a hit. We will be back. But, get here quickly as she sells out long before last call.
This place is AMAZING!!! Excellent service! Food is off the chain !!! Formally Marie's Snack Shack (if you know ya know). I ordered the loaded tots and my 8yo ordered tacos. From the FIRST bite everything was delicious!! We were bragging to each other about how good it was!!! 😄 For many years, I've tried to get my son to eat vegan cheesecake. Today we shared (he inhaled) the brownie cheesecake slice.😆 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
