My first time ordering from DJ's soul food restaurant what's for me my mother and stepfather and I have to say you knocked it out of the park me and my mother ordered the chicken fried steak lunch and my stepfather ordered the six wings with fries and a drink all of our orders came with Kool-Aid me and my mother had got two sides her sides were mac and cheese and collard greens my size was also mac and cheese and red beans with sausage and beef on our orders we also receive corn muffins which were delicious at the end of the meal both of my parents said it was a 12 out of 10 and I have to agree with that sentiment the meal stuck to my ribs and did not leave my mind after eating it everything was perfect all the way down to the Kool-Aid itself remind me of the old school cooking I grew up with.. a few days later I also ordered the 2 pork chops in a side of mac and cheese which also came with a corn muffin and I have to say that that was also great I basically grew up on pork chops and I couldn't do it any better probably equal I will be a returning customer and I hope in the future I can send as many people here so they can enjoy this wonderful food that you're cooking. You have gotten three new returning customers guaranteed!
Maybe it was bad because I ordered over the phone but that was because I was working and couldn’t go in at the time. A girl or lady answered and was kind of rude the handed the phone over to a man he was better… my cabbage tasted very bland and the yams were like soup… I don’t know out of everything that I had I only liked the chicken wings. Everything else was a 2/10.
I woke up this morning and put chitlings into my Google Maps. It brought me to Dj’s where I wasn’t let down. The service was great and simple. Food was great and reasonable priced. Just so happened Sanford and son was on the tv but watching each employee walking in and interact with the other was absolutely joy seeing how they all are willing to help the other…. I am on a soul food kick and this was my first stop. I say the bar is set very high due to my experience at Dj’s
