I went here with my wife for the first time. The restaurant was decorated really nice. They had some incense burning, but it wasn't too strong. Smelled very nice. We ordered the queso Fundido with Chorizo with chips and tortillas. It also came with a habanero salsa, Pico and pickled red onions. It tasted very good! We also got their ceviche tatemado with shrimp. This was probably my favorite dish. The shrimp tasted very clean and fresh, the salsa was perfectly spicy as well. As a main I ordered the Enmoladas with rice and I got an extra side of their chorizo Mac n cheese. The enmoladas were sweet with a little bit of a spicy kick, they tasted really good. The chorizo mac n cheese was also very good. We will definitely be back to try more of their menu items!
Don Bolos is a beautifully designed restaurant with a Tulum-inspired aesthetic that creates a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. The service was excellent—staff were attentive, friendly, and professional. Unfortunately, the food did not meet the same standard. The ribeye “chicharrón” was essentially just fried meat in oil, lacking both flavor and the expected crispiness. The coffee tasted old, which was disappointing, and the tres leches dessert was average at best. It’s a lovely spot to enjoy a drink or a relaxed ambiance, but the culinary experience could be significantly improved.
