It was wonderful to be greeted by such friendliness and delicious smell! The scones were the best I’ve ever had, and my husband loved the pie, and he’s very hard to please. And, the prices can’t be beat! I highly recommend this business ❤️❤️❤️
I stumbled across this place and stopped in and saw the bread what I thought was fresh bread and I even told the girl I’m so excited to get a nice loaf of sourdough fresh bread. Could you cut it for me? She said yes enjoy. Brought it home and you can tell it’s really really old. I have never been so disappointed in angry in my life. It’s just Crazy how you look me in the eye and tell me to enjoy it knowing damn well it’s not fresh bread I would never recommend this place to anybody. I also got a cannoli and I definitely could tell that was super super old.
We ordered to go. I ordered crab cakes. Opened the box and got pancakes?!? I just checked their online menu they don’t even have pancakes on the menu?!? Not sure if the inside menu is different. I was so looking forward to CRAB cakes!! Why would I pay that amount of $ for pancakes?!
Since the ownership change, this place has gone downhill fast. I used to come here 2-3 times a week for great food and service from Lori, Heidi, Brody, Kipp, Chip, and the rest of the original crew. Unfortunately, those days are gone. The menu is now overpriced with little connection to the community, the "winter hours" for the bistro and bakery are inconvenient, and the new staff lacks basic attentiveness. On our last visit, it took 5 minutes just to be acknowledged, 15 minutes to get drinks, and another 10 minutes to place our order (with the cooks, not even the server). My medium-rare steak came out well-done, and the server didn't check on us for 20 minutes-by the time she returned, my significant other had already finished their meal. To top it off, my partner special-ordered a $74 cake for my birthday, only for me to stumble across it on Facebook because the business posted it publicly before I even saw it. When this was brought to the owners' attention, their responses were dismissive: "That's how we advertise" for the cake, and just an "okay" regarding the poor dining experience. No apology, no accountability. Every visit seems to get worse, and that's a shame for what used to be one of my favorite places. Save yourself the disappointment and head to Pier M-33 or see Chef Kipp at Up North 23 in Roger's City
First time here, food was delicious and was served quickly, service was excellent. Donuts were yummy too!!! Definitely will stop again
Have to give a shout out to the really thoughtful chef at this bistro in Cheboygan MI! The seafood stew /soup was thick and delicious, full of seafood. The ginger carrot soup was delicious! My husband really enjoyed his. Cobb Salad. The chicken meat was tender, not that same old tough patty you get in most restaurants. The extra touches set his place apart, like Citrus slices in the water carafes and knowledge of unusual vegetables. The wait staff is excellent! Give it a try!
I ordered quiche with a side Michigan Salad. My quiche was dry and burnt! I peeled back the burnt cheese hoping it would taste better. Ugh! No cherries in the salad. My daughter ordered crepes, again it was served with no cherries and the cashews on top were dark brown... Iam still so sad about my experience here! I doubt I will be back...
The food was amazing, the eggs were perfect and the service was great. Will definitely be back to try more of the lunch options.
