Beautiful trail but not great if you just want to walk your dog, too many entitled cyclists with apparently no speed limit. My kid almost got mowed down by some spandex-wearing narcissist going about 40 mph.
Amazing bike path going for miles and miles before and after Frenchtown . If the first lot is full try the one by the first athletic field in town . After that there are ones by the restaurants and many more going away from French town .
I’ve been coming here for a few years now. Frenchtown, NJ is a great starting point but there are plenty of others. The D&R Canal is great because you can ride both the NJ and Pennsylvania sides of the trail. I’ve ventured both sides, never taking the same way and ride past some amazing areas. There are some great views of the river from various bridges that you’ll cross.
