See All ReviewsWe stopped at this restaurant on our way back to the airport. The food was delicious, fresh, and tasted very safe and clean. The service was very good, and the restaurant itself was clean and well maintained. I had the grilled chicken plate, which was especially tasty and flavorful. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a good meal before heading to the airport.
Do not be fooled by the local exterior, this place is a true hidden gem! From the moment we stepped in, we were invited in to this nice, family like warm, traditionally decorated and elegant space. It was packed (always a good sign!), but the amazing staff worked so hard, moving with a smile to accommodate everyone as quickly as possible. Now, the food… OMG. This is super delicious, authentic Egyptian cuisine at its absolute best. We feasted like royalty: the lentil soup was heavenly, the complimentary bread, the salads were fresh, the baba ganoush was smoky perfection, and the chicken and beef dishes were flawlessly seasoned. Even the fries and rice were standout! We also tried a wonderful potato soup and finished with ‘Umm Ali’ and basbousa for dessert, every single bite was incredible. The flavors are deep, traditional, and made with clear love. This isn't just a meal; it's an experience that deserves recognition. If there were a Michelin guide for heart and authenticity, El Hussein would have 5 stars. Love, love, LOVE this place. A must-visit in Luxor!
The restaurant's food was excellent. The lentil soup and mixed menu were especially delicious. They also offered us Turkish tea after our meal. The staff was very attentive. I highly recommend stopping by if you're ever in Luxor.
