The food here was amazing, especially the lomo saltado. I've been to 10 different Peruvian restaurants across the east coast but nothing compares to El Meson. The staff is kind, especially the owner Roy. I highly recommend them El Meson to anyone in the Gaithersburg area!.
I’ve always enjoyed coming here with family for many years. Today, I came for lunch and there were 3 waitresses. Bartender had her 2 daughters (one 3 year old and one 6 or 7 year old playing BEHIND THE BAR. Talk about safety hazard for the kids…and more so, my waitress went completely ghost and left us unattended. None of the other waitresses came to ask if we needed anything. Mind you, shortly after our arrival, we were the ONLY TABLE LEFT. ON TOP OF THAT, after I asked one of them to get my check, she added an 18% tip, for two people, automatically. In the years that I’ve been here, I’ve never had an added gratuity for a party of TWO. It’s sad that El Meson has gotten this bad. Won’t be coming here again. Management, I hope you check your cameras. Service like this is unacceptable.
FOOD is great but the girls( NOT ALL) but a few are them are very SHADY and seem to charge you more when Management is not there. Actually MANAGEMENT IS NEVER THERE!! I called many times asking for Management and they seem to never be there! Some of them actually hung up on me as well! Very POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE with these girls just chit chatting in the corners like they are in high school. MANAGEMENT: BE MORE PRESENT AND TRAIN THESE girls well. or YOU WILL LOSE CUSTOMERS AND CORPORATE OFFICIALS! and NO MORE UPCHARGING CUSTOMERS!
