a week agoExtremely disappointing experience. 🤮 We waited over 30 minutes after placing our order, only to be kicked out and denied service. The waitress was rude, the owner was disrespectful, and we were treated like we weren’t welcome. All because we asked if they had caldo de camarón & they didn’t …. My dad was a customer and loved this place, but after today we’ll never return. What seafood place dosn’t sell seafood.😂🤔 If this is how they treat paying customers, I DONT recommend this restaurant to anyone. Plenty of better places in Ennis deserve your business. Save your time and money and go somewhere that actually values its customers. Like it cost nothing to be nice and just because of a misunderstanting they made us feel very unwelcomed. God bless these rude people.

a month agoI’m not sure what was going on but I’m leaving three stars because I think maybe the issue was mostly our server and not necessarily the whole restaurant. My family arrived and sat on the patio. They said they were out of salsa and dropped off some chips. Three kids ordered agua frescas and my husband and I ordered margaritas. We ate the basket of chips waiting on our drinks to arrive and kindly asked a nearby server if we could get some more. She said she would tell our server, went inside to run her tables card, and came back out letting us know our server was coming. Not sure why she couldn’t have just brought chips back with her as a team effort when she was right there. We sat and waited while two new tables came in and were greeted with chips and salsa (weird since we were told they were out?) In the meantime, my husband and I never received our margaritas. No waters or anything were brought in the meantime either. Two other servers on the patio were speaking to each other in Spanish asking who had the white people (I guess erroneously thinking we couldn’t understand what they were saying). After about 20-25 minutes the server came by to ask if we were ready to order. No mention of the chips we asked for or the margaritas we were still missing. I politely asked her if we could just pay for the agua frescas. She did bring our check and run my card quickly but no apology or anything was offered when she clearly understood the situation and why we were choosing to leave. I also asked if we could have lids for the cups to go and she said yes but when she came back she just dropped my card off and my husband had to go inside and ask again for lids. We won’t be back because we live out of town anyway but I don’t recommend this place. We ended up going across the street for dinner and had great service.

3 months agoI was very excited to go try this place we live in Midlothian and there are not many places like this, I love seafood Mexican style so I convinced my husband to go try it, I honestly believe our experience could’ve been much better if we’ve had a better server, our waitress didn’t care at all, I asked twice for extra plates that she never brought, plus I had to stand up and go inside to get some salsas, when she saw me she literally asked why do I need salsas, and she said what I ordered didn’t need them so I guess I have to eat how she thinks I should, and she just said go ahead and grab what you need from another table inside, we ate a outside btw, from that moment on she never came outside whatever we needed we had to go inside and order it for ourselves like another two beers that my husband did, I honestly believe the food is not that bad, but after that nothing tasted good, we just wanted to leave. She had long red hair with a very bad attitude I think she was not having a good day, but the woman in the cash register that saw I had to come in and ask for things didn’t help either, it felt we were bothering everybody there. I hope the owner sees this.

3 months agoThe food here is excellent! I enjoyed the ceviche with shrimp tostada, it came out dressed perfectly and was delicious. Also had a 1/2 pound of boiled shrimp, came with sausage and potatoes and a corn. It was very tasty. I ordered an unsweet tea and it was fresh and came in a large Togo cup which was great when I left I had plenty for the ride home. The place is clean, ambience is very lovely. The bathroom is stocked and clean. The staff were friendly and prompt. Although I didn’t sit in the outdoor seating I checked it out and it is tidy and looks like a great place to hang out. This place is a hidden gem and I recommend you make a stop to check it out!

Edited 7 months agoI came here for the for the first time this evening. I really wanted to like this place because they're new and I wanted to help them out. But the food was abysmally bland, flavorless, and slooow. They did do me a favor by offering me the rice bowl with fish, but the fish was not seasoned in any way, shape, or form. The charro beans were slightly better but not by much. Unfortunately I was not impressed it will not be back.

2 years agoThoroughly enjoyed our impromptu date night here and so glad we stumbled upon them. The aguachile verde and pina fresca were delightful. Lighter fare with a kick. So good. My husband had the torta with bistec. He was gracious to allow me a bite and it was wonderful also. Fabulous atmosphere with music and outdoor seating which felt like picnic in a garden. They have some indoor seating also but it was a beautiful evening so outside we went.

2 years agoI was iffy at first, but omg we loved it! The prices went up but the food is so worth it. The shrimp boil is super good and the Torre de mariscos is very good.
