Me and my husband ate at this restaurant and it was disgusting. I got the pig feet meal with a side of collard greens and cabbage. The pig feet was whole and it had hair all over it. My husband got ribs and two sides as well. They boil the ribs and put some nasty watery barbecue sauce up there that didn’t even taste like barbecue sauce. The ribs was not grilled. They wouldn’t literally boil. That’s why our food was ready in 10 minutes. The mac & cheese was disgusting and stream beans was disgusting as well and then on top of that they didn’t even have cornbread. I’ve never returned it to that place again neither of us save your money. It’s not worth it.
People always say Black Businesses don’t get the support from their community Well the problem is the Black Business forget they a business and need more than just your regular customers to keep your going. I’m not from the area but said let me take a chance and find some soul food . I googled and Ellen “s and another Establishment came up. I wanted Pig Feet specifically.I called Ellen’s on 12/26/2025 no answer but the website said they were open I drove 25 mins and they weren’t open. I called the other restaurant they didn’t have pig feet but their food look tasty so I drove there while there I asked if they knew of anywhere I could get some pig feet, she suggested Ellen’s I never mentioned to her about me going there and they weren’t open closed. Ok Saturday afternoon before 1:00pm I called Ellen’s again because I wanted some pig feet. An older lady answer I’m not sure if it was Ellen or not but it was her or a manger. I asked did they have pig feet she said yes I only have enough for three dinners and she don’t know how long it will last. I said I’m about 15mins away can I place an order she said we don’t do call ins, I said ok I’m not going to take that chance again I drove there yesterday and called and yall wasn’t open after the website said yall were she said that’s googling don’t control that excuse me mama you do control what google puts on there about your business she must think I’m green and don’t know I’m a business owner myself she said they were closed for the holidays understandable but at least say Holiday Hours may vary. Anf ive I’ve I told you I came all they way there yesterday and you were closed and I was giving you another chance today why not say well we don’t normally take call in orders and because I’m low on what you want I will do this for you but you have to pay for it. That’s showing appreciation for someone trying to give you their money and business . I come to the area a lot in the summer now you won’t have to worry about me even trying you again
When I called yesterday before 5pm she was very friendly and seemed happy to hear my voice it seemed like we knew each other by phone and she placed my order when I arrived it was hot and the dinner was awesome I've been wanting pigfeet since another soulfood place shut down without any notice, but Ellen's was the BOMB!! tastey and the greens were seasoned just like I like yams were smooth to coleslaw just right and when paying we chatted more of where each other were from it was nice seeing happy faces and no rushing and I said I will be back again. Somethings are worth the drive I say. Thanks Ellen staff.
