Overall, this is a nice place with genuinely friendly owners and staff. There’s a good selection of food and bakery items, with something for most tastes. The only downside for me is the music—it tends to be pretty loud. Turning it down a notch would make it a much better spot to relax with a coffee, a pastry, and a good book for people that want to enjoy the bakery / cafe aspect of the business.
me and my girlfriend have been going here for awhile sense theyre right down the street and there food is good but ive been looking for the perfect chicharron, i finally got it today after trying everyone elses in volusia county THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST ONE IVE EVER HAD!if i could rate 10 stars i would just for that (sorry we already ate half the half pound before the picture 🤣)
This place has a lot of potential, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem like the kitchen or management is taking customer feedback and using it to improve. The food is consistently cold and not visually appealing. You can honestly get better, more authentic Puerto Rican food at Coquí Bakery. As a Puerto Rican customer, I was really disappointed. The pastelillos de pizza and other items taste like they were bought frozen from a store rather than made fresh. The inside is always cold, and you can physically see unmelted cheese. The chicharrón (pork skin) was rubbery instead of crispy like it should be. On top of that, several employees didn’t know where their own products were, it took three different people just to find one sauce, which is frustrating and unprofessional. I would also strongly suggest raising the temperature on the display warmers, because every single time we’ve visited, the food has been cold, not even warm. When I asked for it to be heated, the employee reacted very poorly. This business could be great if the kitchen and management actually paid attention to these repeated issues and made the necessary changes.
