Best crust in New Haven……. Best Italian pizza in Connecticut. All of The of NORTHEAST Thats It ….. ONE MAN MAKES AND COOKS YOUR PIZZA. Quality Control at its FINEST …… NIK M SUPREME.
Been hitting the local pizza hot spots every weekend. This week was Ernies, in Westville (New Haven) I haven't had an Ernies Pie in over 20 years, but remember it as being very good. It appears my memory serves me correctly.. it was excellent! Today, got a large, half bacon, half sausage and a small white clam, no cheese (except some grated cheese). Both pies came out quickly. The bacon/sausage pie had the usual New Haven Abeetz char.. EXCELLENT! The white clam, just a little char, but also perfect. Both pies crust was excellent and tasty, sauce was excellent and ingrediants were of high quality. Definitely give Ernies a try... u ou won't be disappointed.
I’m sorry to say that this was the worst stromboli that we’ve ever gotten from here. You could wring it out with the amount of grease in this. The outside tasted burnt and the inside was mush and grease and some UNcooked dough! We are so disappointed.
This is the #143rd restaurant I have dined at in New Haven. They have a small team and a small menu, but delivered it perfectly. There is an open kitchen where you can see the dough being made into a pizza. The bread is stickier compared with other apizza places in town. They also pair it with a classic Foxon Park soda.
Great spot! Delicious pizza and always very welcoming staff. Perhaps a bit pricey compared to a few others in the area, but well worth dropping the extra bucks for. The way I look at instead of going to a mediocre spot once a week (pizza heaven) go here like once a month then. Also, I HIGHLY recommend getting fresh garlic added to whatever pie you get. Automatically makes you say mama Mia that’s good!
Pizza was amazing! We got 3 pies all cooked to perfection. My favorite was the mozzarella with hot cherry peppers. Waitstaff was fantastic! She was super helpful & efficient.
Hands down my favorite pizza, I’ve been going here for over 20 years since I was kid. Highly recommend the meatball and cherry pepper pizza or the traditional pie. Every pizza has had the same level of consistency every time. The owner and staff are extremely passionate about what they do. I try to avoid “the top 3” as they are tourist traps these days. Ernie’s for life!
The pizza was great! Light and crispy- the meatball was definitely the way to go! Our server was so sweet and helpful as it was our first time trying it out! They only serve beer and wine which for us was enough. They do go heavy on the cheese-where we like more sauce. What a great experience!
