I feel like the food is alright here but way too overpriced. The price I pay in a small container they give you to put your food in here I can pay for at a Chinese spot and get my moneys worth and have leftovers.
Placed a catered order for rice/ beans and griot. Everyone including my elderly Haitian parents thought it was delicious! Prices were reasonable and the pick up time was perfect. Staff was very professional. Highly recommended this place.
Really nice lady works there I've been going many years . They got restaurants in Spring Valley and I think Brooklyn as well , I go to the Haverstraw, NY location which is in lower Hudson Valley, Rockland county about 30 miles from Manhattan on rt. 9w very easy to find , great parking , the food is awesome!!! Ox tails , rice , spaghetti/ onions/egg/pepper/, fried fish and fried rice , macaroni and cheese, that's just some of what I get lol !!!! It's the ultimate comfort food for me ! In fact, I don't understand who people can go to planet wings next door or McDonald's across street, when for same price you can get real food !!!!
It's hot outside and the place had it's front door open and the air conditioning was off. The place was very dimly lit and very dingy inside. Also, it was the middle of lunch and the place was absolutely empty besides being oppressively hot. I drove a couple of miles to get there because I was in the mood for Haitian food and their website advertised a $15.00 buffet. Well that was wrong because apparently they had also not updated their website in who knows how long. Everything was supposed to be placed into Styrofoam containers and weighed and the price per ounce not inexpensive. Also only Styrofoam no real plates or cutlery even though there were tables and chairs. Definitely avoid this place.
Not terrible but not great. Food was Luke warm, And looked like it had been sitting for a while. The oxtails and the peas and rice were the best. Everything else I think I would pass on next time the fish was unidentifiable I am not sure what kind of fish I was eating and it did not taste particularly good . If you just must have Haitian food then Feel free to patronize this establishment otherwise Look elsewhere. Before I forget, the young lady at the cash register was borderline rude and not very courteous. I would not hire her in a front line position under any circumstances. She would be the last person I would want my customers to meet or interact with.
Had all you can eat lunch buffet for $15! I loved their rice and beans and their oxtail! So delicious and lots of meat, not like other places that serve mostly bones and sauce. They have canned and bottled drinks, no fountain soda. You can also order plates from the menu (not many options), eat in, or get it to go, which is by lbs. Restrooms are also inside and parking is plenty.
This place is absolutely fantastic if you've never had Haitian food you've been missing out the best food of your life! I don't really do buffets but this place is really clean and the turnaround a food keeps it fresh. From oxtails to mac and cheese 2 most of the regular Haitian Staples this place you can't go wrong with. Sundays Are Made for soup and every Sunday like clockwork this place delivers. 01/2024 Update: This place was a gem and now it's a dump! The dining room is dark as you walk to the buffet basically making this a take-out joint. The food is always old, dried out or they are out of things and not making anymore and it's early like 530 pm and they close at 9pm. I'm hoping they clean this place up but if not I'm not going anymore.
Been going here since day one when they opened. Haven't regretted it yet. But......today (9/13/2018) WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LEGUME??? It DOES NOT taste the same😕. But still I love this place. No AC...hot AF. Who wants to sit and sweat while eating??? It's time they update and get some AC instead of fans blowing all the hot air around. He fact that its dimly lit is not my thing either. Sit in the dark and sweat while u eat..lol. gave the "service" a one because they don't do anything, u get your food and drink yourself.
