a month agoKinda worth the hype, kinda not but either way the service is pretty quick considering how popular it is. The food was quite good as well. The quesadillas are quite large and if you bring a bag of chips they’ll pretty much fill it up no matter the size. The price varies based on how much protein you would like (get the hot honey chicken!) Overall it was fun for the experience and we’ll probably come back eventually. Nice outdoor seating too!

2 months agoFantastic service, good food and atmosphere. The ginger- pear and blackberry drinks were incredible. The only complaint I have is there is an extra charge to add cheese that I was not aware of before ordering.

3 months agoI only tried their coffee ☕️ so far and it was excellent! Will be back to try more stuff. But first impression of seating area in both their Cafe, dinning area, and outside seating area makes a great hangout joint. Plenty of parking. 🅿️

4 months agoFinally got to try this place out and it's very good. Total came out to about $38 but the portions are generous. The food is fresh and very well seasoned with excellent sauces. The juice options at the fountains are also really good, esp the ginger pear. I was really surprised and happy the place lived up to the hype. Also thanks to the staff, all very friendly and kind and I love that they don't skimp on the portions here. Loyal customer here as long as they don't pull a Chipotle haha.

6 months agoJust tried Flavor Hive in Annadale, VA, I spotted this spot on Instagram and was stoked to give it a shot. The people was friendly, and the restaurant offers some awesome options like Halal steak and chicken, plus vegan falafel. We didn't BYOB (bring your own bag of chips), but the food was still decent. The steak bowls were tasty, and I loved the arugula mixed with rice. The yogurt dressings were on point, and that Serrano chile green sauce? Was spicy and was good on the side. However, the steak could've been more tender it was a bit tough. Slow-cooking first then grilling it would do the trick. Also, chopping the tomatoes and onions finer would elevate the dish. Overall, Flavor Hive's restaurant has got potential, and I'll be back to try more of their delicious options. If you want the full experience, Just don't forget your favorite bag of chips, folks!

Edited 8 months agoCUSTOMER SERVICE AND QUALITY OF FOOD! My wife and I have been following Flavor Hive on social media for at least a year. We finally decided to make the trek from western Maryland to the new store front on a Friday afternoon. We fought through busy and brake wearing traffic to get here with hungry stomachs! This location appears to be converted into a restaurant from possibly a bank. There is plenty of free parking in a busy area of town. We arrived late afternoon and there were a few customers eating but no line. My wife and I walked up to the counter with a bag of Fritos scoops. The restaurants claim to fame is to bring your bag of chips, or whatever else and get the food on top! The person taking our order was super nice, had a huge smile and helped us make our topping decisions. We’ve seen the massive portions online so we split a walking taco and went simple with double chicken, rice, tomato, cilantro and white sauce! When he handed us the bag, it was warm and heavy! They had a decent selection of fresh juices and sodas on fountain as well. We sat down in the ample dining room seating, very excited. Is it worth the hype? YES!!! The food is seasoned perfectly, with a touch of heat but nothing the average person can’t handle. My favorite part was honestly the rice. After finishing, I felt full but not gross like fast food. While eating, we got to watch a local artist painting a beautiful mural on the wall of Annandale which was really cool! After we finished eating and stood up to leave, a gentleman sitting at a nearby table stood up and asked us how our meal was and how far we had driven. We explained it was delicious and it was our anniversary so we decided to finally try it. He welcomed us and offered us a sweet treat for our anniversary. He gave us a slice of tiramisu and lattes that they make in their new machine. Wow!!! Outstanding. They have tons of latte options and ice cream too. This man introduced himself as Drew. He did not say anything else and was very humble. He was dressed in business clothes so I assumed he was the manager or something. I looked him up and discovered he was Drew Kellogg - the president of Flavor Hive and former executive of Chipotle! I love the concept of Flavor Hive as well as the customer service. You can tell all of the employees are treated well as they are smiling and attentive. The restaurant is very clean and modern. Thanks Drew and team for giving us an outstanding experience.

Edited 7 months agoHonestly, the hype can make you feel disappointed. Go in with the mindset that you are having shawarma bowl ingredients added to your bag of chips. It was kind of strange but maybe because it’s not the type of toppings I was expecting. The shawarma ingredients themselves are well-executed, though the flavors are not unique nor adapted to pair with chips. If you are looking for shawarma bowls, then this is well executed food. The chips part is like an added novelty. Next time, I would probably just get a normal rice bowl. My friends said they would get a smaller bag of chips because the ratio of toppings to chips was low when using a typical large bag of chips. My kids didn’t care for the fries with toppings. The drinks are great. And if I could give this restaurant feedback on the food, I would recommend adapting their offerings to pair with chips better vs. just combining shawarma with chips. There’s a lot of room for creativity, but bravo on starting up this interesting concept and great execution of shawarma. The atmosphere and service were great. Good place to take kids as well. Value is good. Would I return? Probably not unless they add to their topping offerings.

9 months ago"Welcome to Flavor Hive" is the first thing you are greeted by that really sets the cool vibe! Come hungry because portions are huge! Flavor ✅️ Options ✅️ Bring your bag of chips ✅️ (yeah, its still a thing!!) Seating- Plenty...indoor and outdoor. Drinks - YES!!! No boring coke or Pepsi products....AMAZING real flavor from Maine Root (thank you!!) Clean- Extremely. We tried out the ice cream portion cuz there is always room for sweets and glad we did. Overall, this definitely was a unexpected cheat day well worth it!
