See All ReviewsHusband and I were out enjoying our day and came across the little diamond that serves some pretty damn good soul food. And believe me I am prettty picky and I was very much pleased still tasting those greens all the way home🌺🤗I will return Thank you!
It's a No. I hate to say it because the owner/cook was super nice. But, we were the only customers. No one came in for the forty minutes we waited on our takeout. We were so hungry we stuck out the wait. Something is off based on what the reviews show. The only menu was written on a lighted marker board. No prices. Few items. Deep fried heavily breaded Whiting was too chewey, too salty. The catfish was same thing, but just a bit more palatable. The greens were off. Strange taste. Cornbread just okay. Yam pudding was the best of them, but still way too sweet and overall a pass as well. Unappealing environment. Again, we tried to ignore what we started to sense about this restaurant because of the five star reviews?! Maybe it has changed hands.
My wife and I stopped for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our meal; however, we dined in and although there are tables and booths it did not seem like they were really geared up for dine in customers. The dining room was dimly lit and I don’t think it was air conditioned. That being said the food was very good and Cookie, our host and cook, was delightfully. I had a Polish boy and fries and my wife had the catfish bites with Mac & cheese and yam pudding as sides. Everything was made from scratch, very well prepared and cooked just right. The Polish boy was made with real grilled Polish sausage. Everything was cooked to order so there is a little wait. My wife and I enjoy dining off the beaten path and we are glad we tried Flonnoy’s.
