Arrived literally 4 minutes until they opened. I normally still would have waited until like 10 after before going in, but the sign on the door said "Yes, we are open" so I thought maybe the online hours were wrong. My daughter went in and the lady immediately told her to leave, that they weren't open yet, so she came back out. She no longer got back in the vehicle and we spoke about what happened, that the woman came to the restaurant door and made a waving motion for her to come back. I understand arriving early and all that. However, when I say it was 4 minutes early, it was literally 4 minutes. But I digress. There were 2 ladies working. The one at the beginning never broke a smile. She wasn't out right rude, she just wasn't friendly or polite. She ignored my son at the window and went to do dishes (the other lady finally waited on him). Definitely not welcoming. The other lady at least smiled a couple of times. The food was good. Definitely frozen and deep fried, but that's what was expected. The service was sub par and disappointing. I hadn't eaten from here for probably 25 years and was excited to bring my kids, and we left feeling like we ruined their day by being a customer. We may give it one more chance someday. Everyone has a bad day and maybe this was that for that lady. But attitude matters, especially in customer service.
We stayed at Breaks Interstate Park, and found this great little restaurant. We had burgers and fries. Large hot burgers with fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and onion. The fries were very hot. We had excellent service.
This is a little restaurant out by itself that usually stays very busy because the food is good and the hometown service is excellent. I got the catfish and loaded baked potato and coleslaw. The catfish was delicious and the coleslaw was very tasty. I was a little disappointed in the baked potato because it didn’t have enough cheese and bacon on it for my tastes but I didn’t send it back so I can’t complain too much. The atmosphere is family oriented and they really take care of you here.
