a year agoWe had the pie chips and peas special, what can I say very reasonable price, good portion size. The pie had a nice crust plenty of mince, peas tasty and good thick consistency, chips nicely cooked, crispy scrappings. 👍

2 years agoFirst visit and won’t be the last. Lovely hot fresh and very tasty sausage chips and curry sauce. Best I’ve had in a long time and defo better than some other well known over priced places.

3 years agoWent here off the cuff asked for large fish, 2 minutes to fry it. Took it home wasn't cooked properly, pasty batter, chips also white and undercooked. To make it worse a long black hair in my fish. Have to say I'll never go there again. One of the worst fish n chips I've ever had.

5 years agoHaven't been here under the ownership. Stopped impromptu. Glad I did. Really enjoyed the food (large cod, chips, battered smoky and curry sauce). Actually preferred it to the one closest to home. Pleasant man and woman behind counter. Will try it again in a few weeks.

5 years agoFresh fish cooked to ordered. Good chips quick service when busy too. Often go for large fish n share the fish supper. Which come wich bun n side with fish n chips. I make fish sandwich with mushy peas which I enjoy and thk you cannot go wrong. Dont need mega large portion, get it right nice fish good batter fresh chips that are not old standing long time and you will get customer coming back.

6 years agoAs an occasional but repeat customer I have just returned to Fram's Fry but was disappointed with the place under new ownership. The last owner always made sure the food was top quality and they'd also moved to using only paper and cardboard trays and bags, no plastic. Wooden forks too. The new owner has gone back to plastic and the chips were thin and dry and not nice at all. I just threw most of them in the bin. Looks like I'll be looking for a new chippy. The cheesy patty and the fish cake were OK but bought-in stuff like that is hard to get wrong.

7 years agoAlways good quality with a wide range of products. Will cook to order and you can phone in advance. Take card payments which is convenient. Probably the best fish and chips anywhere in Durham.
