Nasty.. chicken had good flavor but it was tough and hard to eat. Rice was very plain with no seasoning, cabbage was under cooked. Mac and cheese was extremely DRY with no flavor, only ate it because it cost extra to sub cabbage for mac. Over all it was a cute little spot but the food was subpar, I will not be coming back.
This review is just on the taste of the food: The food is quite good, and I'd recommend coming here at least once to try it. I ordered the Jamaican Jerk Chicken and my wife ordered the Jamaican Fried Chicken. The jerk chicken was super soft and tender and had this smoky flavour/blackened exterior (like BBQ) that made me wonder if it had been slow cooked in a smoker for a couple of hours. The seasoning was just the right amount of spicy for my taste and was fantastic. The fried chicken was equally soft and juicy on the inside while being perfectly crispy on the outside. The cabbage that comes on the side actually tasted like nothing, which was amazing b/c let's face it, cabbage is terrible, and if you can make something healthy taste neutral that's a win.
Originally, I had placed a review pretty upset over the fact I had placed an order for a dish, and they confirmed the order and then the door dasher had to reach out and say the restaurant no longer had the dish I wanted. Long story short, my money was refunded etc. since then, I have tried multiple other dishes to give them a chance instead of just leaving a bad review. THEIR FOOD IS EXCELLENT! I had wished I picked another dish when I had first ever placed an order through door dash instead of just being upset. I have also gone there myself, and the staff has all been so friendly!!
