See All ReviewsThis bar has amazing lamb chops and their drink specials for happy hour are out of this world. The wait staff are friendly and very hard working. I highly recommend coming and enjoying the day or night.
Let me set the scene. It’s 1:00am on a Friday. I’m at another establishment. Responsible adults are saying things like, “Just call it a night.” Meanwhile I’m over here like, “Call it a night? I haven’t even eaten yet.” With time not on my side and hunger hitting like a freight train, there was only one logical move: Franky’s in Taylor. Now I’ve been here before because they run an absolutely unhinged weekday special from 11–2pm — ½ off whatever your heart desires. That alone deserves a civic award. But this? This was a late-night food emergency. I jump in the Batmobile and head out. I pull up at 1:25am. The bouncer greets me with the most thorough security check known to man — let’s just say he cup-checked my future generations to ensure public safety. Respect. I now know this establishment takes security seriously. Inside? DJ’s spinning Chris Brown. Not my personal pick — I would’ve preferred Usher because, you know, Daddy’s Home — but we survive. Once I regained oxygen from my one-on-one bonding session at the door, I hit the bar and immediately get greeted by Amanda. Absolute pro. I order a drink and tell her I’m about to order food. She asks if I want a menu. Ma’am. This fat boy does not need a menu. I confidently place an order to-go: • Corned beef egg rolls • Chicken chipotle melt We’re not playing games. While vibing to some F-A-B-O (Fabolous, for the cultured), I discover Amanda has an accomplice — Brooklyn. Yes, like the bridge. Just significantly younger and way more efficient. She hits me with, “Did you want the wings menu?” Did I originally? No. Did I suddenly consider it? Absolutely. While waiting for my carryout, some beautiful human beings teach me how to Dougie. Because that’s the kind of place this is. You come for egg rolls, you leave with choreography. Food comes out fast. Hot. Smelling like redemption. Time is still ticking, so like Unk, I walk it out. Right before I leave, someone asks, “Are you that food critic from YouTube and TikTok?” Sir. No. I am just a chubby guy from Livonia surviving on surplus and half-off Slurpees. As I’m walking out, I lock eyes with Amanda one last time — the universal “we both know this was a great decision” look. Franky’s at 1:25am delivered: • Security • Energy • DJs • Bartenders who actually pay attention • And food that absolutely hits when you need it most Five stars. Would risk another cup-check again. — A satisfied, well-fed citizen of Livonia 🍻
I love this bar! Amanda is my favorite bartender. She’s always on her game and the sweetest person in the world! Food is delicious! Most importantly, I feel safe at Franky’s Their security guard is on it. His head is always on a swivel. Gotta check this place out!
