I’m really disappointed with my order. Both burgers were severely undercooked. My daughter’s burger was bright pink/raw inside, and mine, while not as bad, still had a lot of pink and was clearly not cooked properly. I do not eat raw beef, and I absolutely would never feed it to my toddler. This is a serious food safety issue, not just a “preference” thing. Serving undercooked meat, especially in a kids’ meal, is unacceptable. I ended up having to just disassemble the burgers and nuke them because it was late, my daughter and I were hungry which is frustrating because I paid a lot of money. I don’t like having to complain , but this needs to be addressed. Please do better with quality control and making sure food is cooked to safe temperatures before serving it to families.
Funky has been a go to for me and my wife whenever we stop in to El cajon to visit family. The portions are excellent, and the quality is something I wish other restaurants strived for. When you look at their menu and see the burger in all its juicy glory, that's exactly what you're gonna get. Not some deflated sad burger.
Had the TJ Dog and the cheeseburger egg rolls, and both were excellent. The TJ dog was loaded, well balanced, and full of flavor without being messy. Every bite delivered. The cheeseburger egg rolls were a standout. Crispy on the outside, packed with flavor on the inside, and they kept their crunch the entire time. They’ve also added new items to the menu, and if these dishes are any indication, they are doing things right. Everything tasted fresh, consistent, and clearly made with care. Comfort food done right. Highly recommend and a great local family restaurant to support!
