See All ReviewsWe went to eat breakfast and we had to wait for a table because it is a small restaurant. Hoping the food would be really good. And it was good. The service was good. U just feel kind of crowded there.
For takeout. Large Caldo De Res (Beef Vegetable Soup), $14. Service was quick.--As advertised, the caldo de res indeed had short rib. Broth was a bit bland, but do-able. Beef tasted fresh, however, what good is having short rib if it's not properly cooked. Not tender at all. A good deal of time was spent chewing. Oddly enough the squash in the soup was chewy as well, don't know how that was achieved. --Disappointing. (Isn't there a restaurant in El Paso that can make a decent caldo de res?) All other reviews say the food is great at this place, I'll give them another chance and will update this.
First time trying this beautiful cozy cafe. Got the skillet steak and the mission breakfast and it was delicious. The pancakes hot, fluffy and full of flavor!!!
