Gandhi Bazar 620 is my absolute go to destination whenever I need authentic Indian groceries in Austin and it never lets me down. The selection of fresh produce, spices, lentils, masalas and specialty items is truly impressive and covers everything you could possibly need for cooking genuine Indian cuisine at home. I really appreciate that the store offers a great range of organic products and avoids the use of plastic bags which shows a real commitment to sustainability. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and always happy to help you find exactly what you are looking for. The Chaat Express inside the store is an added bonus that makes every shopping trip feel like a little treat.
We are from out of state visiting a family friend, we bought a bag of 30 Punjabi samosa and when we were in their house we opened it and found everything molded. Very very disappointed. I just now see many people complaining they carry expired and molded items with fungus. This will make people sick if they didn't notice. Why health offfials are not taking notice. PEOPLE PLEAE BEWARE AND AVOID THIS STORE IF YOU DONT WANT TO GET SICK OT EXPIRED and MOLDED ITEMS
Small cafe inside is a hidden delight. I always share a daily special with my wife and, with garlic naan, it’s ample. All vegetarian and tasty beyond compare. Why not five star? It’s walk up counter with tables. No table service.
