See All ReviewsI would've given them a 5 Star if they had a dining room , but the picnic tables were a nice touch. I understand the old building burnt down years ago and now they just have pickup available. I've always heard how good they are and I never got a chance to try it when I came to town to visit my sister every few years. I made it a point to go here this time and came here on Thursday , my last day , for lunch before driving to the mountains. Everyone was very nice and the chopped pork sandwich was very good. I'm more used to pulled pork , but it was pretty much the same thing. The vinegar and red pepper bbq sauce was on point like it should be in the Carolinas. The slaw was okay and it also came with a pack of potato chips. It was nice and quiet sitting on the picnic benches and a few people came by while I was eating. I also got a show from one of the local birds flying high enjoying the wind. At first I thought it was a hawk , but after looking at the picture more closely it looks like a buzzard. Anyway , I highly recommend you giving them a try , support local businesses , and it was some good barbecue.
It's a drive-through service now. The food is good. The barbecue was ok. It was not as tasty as it was years ago. The butter beans, cornbread fritter, fried chicken, and corn were delicious. People are friendly.
Delicious food and the General is real friendly. Drive up with a few outdoor picnic tables
