See All ReviewsWe were glad to find a venue that served eastern European food without having to go to Philadelphia. There are not many Ukrainian restaurants and we were looking forward to trying Golden boar It is in a strip mall type of shopping center, so there is plenty of parking The service was very good. We got there just at opening time so we were the first seated. The thematic decoration contributed to the atmosphere. We tried two dishes I had the bigos. It was very good though differing significantly from the Polish version. There was a sauerkraut/cabbage base with mushrooms and slices of kielbasa. Nevertheless, it was well prepared and enjoyable. The goulash had a great flavor. There was plenty of meat and my wife had the leftovers for her dinner. The only downside was the coffee, which was horrible. Probably instant. Fortunately, there was a Wawa across the street Despite the coffee, I felt the restaurant deserved five stars. I am looking forward to going back and trying some of the other dishes. The menu is good and there is something for everyone. I would recommend giving it a try.
Had a fantastic time at the golden boar and I can’t wait to go back to try more. Every dish was delightful, prepared from scratch and executed with love, authentic Ukrainian food to warm the soul and stick to your ribs. The cheese filled buns were absolutely bonkers and a must grab for the table, we didn’t have a single bad dish. The desserts were excellent as well, very light and refreshing.
Excellent place - delicious food, wonderful cozy atmosphere, pleasant service! Highly recommend - we tried lots of different food to share and everything came out delicious - from the yummy homemade pierogies “varenyky” to the potato latkes with mushrooms, to the meat schnitzel and desserts - do not miss the surprisingly delicious coffee in the pot (amazing fresh brewed hazelnut taste) and fruit compote (yummy!) The interior of the restaurant is also wonderful - cozy and homy with lots of carved and handmade Ukrainian items :) a true hidden gem you must visit and experience for yourself - bring family and friends too :)
