Food was mediocre. Price was very cheap. Altogether, decent value for your money. Staff was very nice. Someone else mentioned the fact that the desserts were all jumbled, together with chocolate cake smashed up against pecan pie, etc. I found that to be true tonight, also. They clearly don't care too much about the desserts - not even the most basic presentation. But they DID taste decent. Basically, this place is a cheap, no-frills, but decent amount of selection, all-you-can-eat Asian buffet. Don't have super high expectations, and you'll enjoy it just st fine. Saturday dinner cost me about $16. K i think weekday lunch is about $12 or $13.
My fiance and I have ate at the Golden City Buffet many many times since first going there a few months ago. Their food is Absolutely Delicious! It's as good or better than some of the big city buffets. Everybody that works there is extremely friendly. Lily is very very nice as so is Julie. Their prices are beyond reasonable. The Golden City buffet is a small cozy restaurant but still has an overflow section for larger families or big gatherings. This is a very friendly and fun place to eat. I always look forward to going there and will continue to do so. Please give it a try you will not be disappointed!
Came here to have a little bite to eat, the food was decent but was a bit greasy. Service was great, friendly atmosphere and the owners seemed hard working. Its a bit of an older place but still a good place to come if you want to have a buffet experience in Monroe.
They grow the veggies you eat right outside at the edge of the parking lot! Family owned and operated. Excellent (unusually large variety) selection of freshly prepared and tasty traditional eats, and other (desserts, fresh fruit, a few fried American items). You can also grab a to go container of whatever you like which is a great price by the pound. Very good value for food. Bathrooms need attention.
Stopped in while traveling through, $15 for all you can eat. They also offer take out from the buffet. Food was tasty! Better than wonderful buffet in Bellingham. Staff was friendly and service was great. Lots of seating available.
There is a decent amount of variety, leaning more towards American Chinese food. The food itself was okay, not bad not great, but well worth the price per person, which was only $10 before tax. I enjoyed the clams, mussels, coconut shrimp, and the chocolate cake and cupcake were also tasty! Came after typical lunch hours so the food was warm, but not hot.
I am a regular customer and I always find the food to be good for the bucks and the service to be impeccable. The staff is a nice couple who are always nice and they go out of their way to help, no matter how busy it is. It is not a fancy place but it is also not expensive. The menu has excellent selection of dishes for a very cheap price. It is remarkable how fast they fill dishes once they are out.
This is a decent place to go for lunch. Great prices and good service. As some others have stated, going during peak hours may be the best idea. Lots of food options. Some were great, others were average. Give it a chance, I will come back again also.
