Best Mediterranean food for miles, chef is the best, no one leaves hungry!
If you a expecting a cheaply and quickly made fast food experience, then may I suggest one of the national burger chain locations within walking distance. However, if you are not in a rush ("good things cone to those who wait") and want to relax and enjoy a refreshing and distinct cuisine within haines city then the green basil is the place you want! The environment is clean, quiet and quaint, the staff are extremely nice and friendly. And the food? If you are familiar with and/or interested in "dipping your toes" into mediterranean/the Levant area of the middle east inspired cuisine, then you will love the food! I am myself multi-ethnic/racial/cultural (a "lovable Heinz 57 mutt"), and of the many cuisines I have indeed been fortunate to experience throughout my life, a couple of my favorites are Greek and Lebanese. The aromatic flavors of these two cultural cuisines are provided here for you to enjoy! Finally, you will not spend an arm or leg for the food. My wife, son, and I had a delicious lunch and beverages for approimately $30. If you are interested in something different than typical American fast food (and "don't get me wrong" I am still American born and raised and love my hamburger, hot dogs, mac n cheese, etc), then please send your patronage their way - you will not regret it.
Delicious food! It was nice being served by the chef/owner/family. Unique place that made you feel like a guest invited over to their home for dinner. We loved the grape leaves, too!
