Been going to grubsteakers since 1983.Afew different owners but foods always been good.Dont go there too often since a lot of my friends moved out of illinois. But I still get takeout sometimes. .
Stopped in here while driving home from out of state. Cute diner type feel and very friendly. Service was great and so was the food.
It seems like it's in the middle of nowhere. Good food, good service, at a good price.
Worth a short detour off of I-39 for the home-cooked style menu. Everything your mama would fix, but probably better (sorry, Mom). My personal favorite is the ribeye steak and eggs. Breakfast anytime! Storm Chaser Approved!
My friend and I both had the hot turkey sandwich. We were told the turkey was fresh sliced and the mashed potatoes were homemade. It did not disappoint! The gravy was so tasty and the prices were very affordable...even came with a cup of delicious cream of broccoli soup! Service was super as well! Definitely recommend and will be stopping back if I'm ever passing through again.
There are plenty of options for everyone. We had the Baked Cod special. The portion was huge, couldn't eat it all, and was cooked perfectly. Came with soup; chicken dumpling & beef barley were both delicious. Price was also very reasonable.
Good food. Good service. I'd go there again if I'm in the area.
I haven't eaten here in years. Even before the Tornado hit. So this is basically my first time here. I was surprised at the creative options on the menu. Found many things I wanted to try. Almost ordered the "Horse"... I was quite pleased with my meal. My kids ate till they were full. The dessert options are awesome. This place is definitely worth a drive into the country.
