Not fancy, down home, but the food is really good love their breakfast - and hot roast beef sandwiches can't be beat. Real mashed potatoes. $9.99 for either 2 pancakes or French toast, 2 eggs, bacon or sausage or double bacon, double sausage.
This very much seems to be a "usuals" place. Not very inviting or welcoming if you've never been. Server's rarely smile, aren't very attentive, and seem bothered to be doing the job. Food wasn't anything special, normal diner-ish fare. No cheese in scrambled eggs as ordered, diet Coke was diluted and weak. Rt.40 Diner is far better and just a couple of miles north.
They have the best pancakes hand down. Crispy on the edges. Fluffy in the middle. The BEST scrapple egg & cheese hoagie. No one does it like Guilday’s. A true Delaware staple for sure!
