See All ReviewsIf you go out to dinner in Lexington, Virginia and don't go to Harden's, you're just dumb... 🤪 This place has fantastic food. Great menu options with a lot of uniqueness and everything is high quality. The staff and owners are very approachable and fantastic to talk to. You get the sense that this family owned business is very committed to the community. A plus for me personally is that the owners have heritage up in the northeast of New York and New Jersey. And influence is evident in everything they do in this bar and restaurant. I showed up at the tail end of a rush at 8:30 p.m. on a Tuesday night! I was shocked to find the place packed, the kitchen busy, and the bar full. There were two empty seats at the bar. I took one. Many Local and East Coast craft options on tap. Now let's talk about their bourbon selection. Probably the best bourbon selection I found outside of a big city. Probably better than most places I've been to in DC, Baltimore, New York and even Philadelphia. This place is a gem. If you're local, make it your regular place to go. If you're visiting? Eat here, you won't regret it. I'm not going to put down any other restaurant in the Lexington main Street area, but this place puts every other restaurant in Lexington to shame. From their food, friendly staff, great vibe, and their bar selections. This place is punching way above its weight.
Overall disappointed. The server was great but the food wasn’t. I thought tuna tostada appetizer was really good. My partner thought the components didn’t go together. My steak came out lukewarm, under seasoned and with no sear on it. My partners burger was good but also under seasoned. For dessert I had the churros. The exterior crunch was good but the inside was undercooked and mushy. My partner got the brownie with frozen milk. The frozen milk tastes exactly like watery, frozen milk. Basically tasteless. Maybe it was a bad night but the food was underwhelming and I wouldn’t go back.
Amazing place! Tiny but snug in the beautiful Lexington downtown, I really enjoyed the smaller menu and amazingly interesting offerings. I tried the steak sandwich - divine. An odd sounding lemon aioli made this one of the best sandwiches ive ever had. Even the fries came with a unique and delicious dipping sauce. No, food was not this place's issue. In fact, the only area this place consistently missed on was greeting and seating. I watched several new parties repeat my intro experience; walk in, wait a while to get noticed and then helped by a friendly server. No host/hostess, nothing to indicate if I shout sit or wait to be seated...it was just clunky. My server was great, but this first impression means they had some catching up to do out of the gate. All told, a GREAT experience. I cant wait to go back, and I see many visits to Lexington in my future! I look forward to dining there again.
