See All ReviewsI have noticed some comments on here saying that they were excited to try but when they got there it was closed down, please be patient with the owners guys the husband is a veteran of the navy, the army & the marines he has had some health issues recently and him & his wife who is the sweetest person in the world run the place by themselves so they have to shut it down sometimes when they are not able to make it. We all age one day right so if you are going to show up have your expectations set accordingly and also, show up with some respect. The regulars of places like this go by all the time do not come to nine mile road or RVA period disrespecting, bullying, or trying to prove points because you didn’t get your way. You will be in a very unfavorable situation. Anyhow, the food & service was as good as you heard it was please believe the hype so if you do see that they happen to be open stop by you will not be disappointed!! Rva royalty
I ordered to go, super friendly. I told them I was going to cut up my food so I could safely eat and drive...they cut it up for me! Amazing! They seemed proud that the items were named after the grandchildren and food was very well cooked. I love you can get a cheeseburger at 8 am! (I hate breakfast food at breakfast time lol)
Yes, I gave this extra marks for being incredibly nostalgic and seeing the grill right in front of me. The husband and wife team were so cute together - she was such a sweetheart that I almost forgot I needed to eat my burger. This place isn’t fancy. Has no frills, but man, it felt so good sitting on that barstool feeling like I was seven or eight again. The husband came over to me after I was done with my burger and asked with a satisfied smile if I liked my burger - heck, yes, I loved it! Another funny thing was I asked them if they were from the Dallas area because of the Dallas Cowboys stuff in their restaurant. She said no she was from West Virginia and her husband‘s from Virginia lol! I noticed there was a hint of a Cajun accent in her voice and she said she spent 18 years in Louisiana. What an amazing place. They may not have the hours like all of the other burger places, but dang it was awesome to sit there and shoot the breeze with some salt of the Earth folks.
