My wife and I stopped here on a whim driving back to DFW from Ledbetter. We had our dog with us, so the covered outdoor seating was perfect. I want to say it was maybe 1PM on a Saturday. First off, the atmosphere is great. Despite being very open, we stayed completely dry when a rain shower came through. The table we chose to sit at was well constructed. If it weren't for us having plans back home, we might've stayed a while and played some Yahtzee (no fear of dice falling between the boards). The people working were very friendly and greeted us right away. When they shared they ran out of potatoes (we were looking to order a Big Potato), they gave great alternative suggestions. And the food? Top notch! I got the sample platter that came with a quarter pound of four meats: brisket (choice of fatty or lean), pork sausage, rib, and turkey. Turkey is HARD to pull off and not be dry. But, these folks got it figured out! All four meats were tender and packed with flavor. Combine this with the delicious beans and cole slaw, I didn't have room to eat the banana pudding until I got home. It was so good I almost wanted to drive the 3+ hours back to get a larger amount. My wife got the cucumber tomato salad and really liked it. That suggestion given to us when they had no more potatoes left? It was to basically swap out the potato for french fries, then eat with a fork. Sooooo good. 10/10, will tell our friends and will look forward to returning!
