Highly recommend! We had the gumbo and a shrimp poboy. Both were fantastic (and I have high standards for both. The gumbo was rich and flavorful, and the shrimp on the poboy were enormous! The homemade remoulade was a nice bonus.
My husband and I visited Underground for the first time since reopening on Valentine’s Day. It was clearly a very busy night, so we understand that our experience may not reflect a typical evening there. We waited about an hour just to receive our drinks. While we tried to be patient given the crowd, we noticed the same delays happening at several nearby tables, and actually saw multiple parties leave before being served. When we ordered, quite a few items from the Valentine’s menu were already unavailable, which we also understood given the holiday. However, when our meals arrived, both steaks (ordered medium rare) were cooked incorrectly. We were each missing one of the two included sides, and we never received the spinach dip that was supposed to come with the meal. After about 2.5 hours, dessert finally arrived and I will say, it was excellent. The bananas foster was absolutely incredible. We may have chosen the toughest night to try it out, but for a $171 bill, we were hoping for a smoother experience. We do hope to return on a less hectic evening and give it another try.
From food to service to atmosphere, this was an awesome experience. We reserved their private room for a surprise engagement for friends, and the staff was so helpful. Everyone ordered something different, and everyone raved about it, even my picky children. We will definitely be back and will recommend them to anyone!
