See All ReviewsA super quiet place not known to many, hence have almost no one, except one or two foxes. Just dried field all around. Can take an hour to complete one loop. Easy to get lost, the blue trail mark is not clear. I suggest the township to place more color mark and right directions. On a cold morning 41 degrees went for hike and after an hour I lost the track and came to the Clyde road. I had to call a friend to ride me back to the car park.
Nice, simple area to walk around. Small pond. Fun bird information posted throughout walk, bird houses throughout grassland. Tick infested when I went April 28th, 2024. Lots of ticks. I believe there was a "no dogs allowed" sign, so I would avoid bringing your pets.
Warning: Ticks! Most of the trails are mowed grass except for one small bit at the start. For me it was the day after a rain and there was a decent amount of standing water and marshy areas, one section of trail (a spur in the forest section) was impassible. The trails could be much better marked in terms of intersections and the like, but you are not going to get lost, you just might not go the way you wanted to go. Small free parking area, but no restrooms. And yes, there are ticks. Both of us got two.
