Where should I start. My fiancé wanted the 10oz CFS. We were informed that they were out. So he got the whole catfish, my daughter got the fried shrimp and I got the CFC. My fiance asked for lemon 4 times before another waitress came and brought it. When the food came out it all looked good. Well..... the fish was bland. It was fried in just corn meal. No salt not nothing and his okra was cold. My daughter's fries were cold. My CFC was good but my potatoes were cold and my green beans tasted and smelled spoiled. Now our waitress came to our table to take our order, bring a plate of food and refill a drink. Then the other young lady that brought out the other food, made sure we had everything we needed, answered questions she was heaven sent. But will we go back??? Not at all. This was our first and last time going.
4/26/2026. Fried shrimp with fries and Cole slaw, best hush puppies we tasted in Texas. Fantastic burger and undoubtedly the very best onion rings I have ever had. These rings were one inch thick cuts. Great service, quiet atmosphere. Oh yes they have complimentary pinto beans they were delicious with a little salt. We hope to visit again soon. Really a great stop on the road! The food was down home cooking at it's best. Truly. The chicken fried steak was hand battered and quite tender. The caddo burger was perfectly done and very tasty. Lots of food at a good price. The salad bar was fresh and the complimentary pinto beans , were some of the best ever! Service was great. Every associate was working steadily, most impressive was the boss woman right beside them. Making everyone feel welcome and making sure they remained happy. 🙂the only drawback would be that they are not open for breakfast! I bet it would be crazy good!! With food and service this good it is worth the wait , until they open. Worth the stop anytime you are near Marshall, Texas . We are coming back soon.
