See All ReviewsNot halal Under new ownership. Not zabiha halal. No certification, not marked on the menu. The guy behind the counter said it's halal. When I asked for certification or where it was written, he just stood there looking at my face. I caught him lying.
We ordered two 6-piece chicken wing dinners. In the past, House of Fire has been decent—sometimes hit or miss—but today was completely unacceptable. When my husband placed the order, one of the cooks came out and made a gesture indicating to give him two 6-piece dinners. At the time, we didn’t think much of it. That changed once we got home and took a bite. It was immediately clear the chicken was not freshly cooked. Instead of making a fresh order, previously cooked chicken had clearly been dropped back into grease and served. The wings were refried, overcooked, and honestly disgusting. We work too hard for our money for this kind of shortcut to be taken. It’s disappointing to see a business start off strong and then treat customers as if anything they serve is acceptable. It’s not. We won’t be back.
Outstanding food! Seriously one of the best Philly sandwiches that I’ve ever had! I’ve eaten some of the best in Philly and from one of the better Sandwich places in Milwaukee, but House of Fire compares and even surpasses! The blend of spices with the finely diced peppers and great steak cuts make for a phenomenal experience! Thanks and I will be back again and again!
