Wonderful service! Yummy food! Didn't care for the miso soup (fishy). Combination Bento Boxes were great, chicken a bit dry but everything was yummy.
Arguably the best sushi in Columbia! However their SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!! The sushi makers and sushi quality is top tier though, if the waitresses / waiters did a better job we’d visit more often but typically that’s the deal breaker for us when determining what sushi place to go to. Everything else here is amazing.
Best sushi. Probably our favorite restaurant in the midlands. The miso soup is perfect, as is the ginger salad. Order the fish on the chalkboard menu. So fresh. Also try the plum roll. We always leave happy. I would give 10 stars if I could. Rio and his team are in a league of their own.
09/11/2025 “I visited this place for the first time in Columbia, South Carolina, after finding it on Google and being impressed by the many reviews. Overall, my experience was very positive: the service was attentive, the atmosphere was great, and the quality of the sashimi stood out. The only observation, which I also noticed mentioned in other reviews, is that the sashimi portions are a bit small for the price. That said, I would still recommend it, and I’m sharing some photos so others can form their own opinion.”
Unassuming from the outside but top notch in every way once inside. The host was very helpful. Even though they had a line and a packed restaurant he encouraged us to wait and see how quickly it cleared out. Overall customer was great. Food was excellent from the soup, salad, kids udon noodles, to the sashimi lunch plate and yakisoba beef with Udon Noodles. Prices were very reasonable as well.
The food was good, the prices were fair, but our server was amazing. He had a great personality. The experience was enjoyable, and I can definitely see myself coming back!
Looks can be deceiving—kind of like my ex’s dating profile. Sure, the shopping center and parking lot look like they’ve seen better decades, but don’t let that scare you off. The food here? Chef’s kiss. The service? On point. Go on Thursdays—they restock with the good stuff, and your taste buds will thank you.
Got takeout for the first visit here. While it certainly wasn't bad, the amount of rice in the rolls made it difficult to appreciate the ingredients. None of the items really stood out. Interested in sitting at the sushi bar the next time to try other options. The 10% add on for takeout seems obnoxious when the host wasn't even aware of my order and I had to describe what was on the ticket.
