4 years agoDelicious food, good service, plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. The kitchen's execution is very good on all types of meat. Ribeye steak was unexpectedly tender, chicken schnitzel was perfect, and arayes (arais) just fantastic. French fries were expertly done as well. They closed for a couple of hours between lunch and dinner the day we went, so be sure to call and confirm timing before you head over if it's not mealtime.

4 years agoStopped here on our way from Jacksonville to Miami as it’s on the way. The Challah Reuben was soooooo good, definitely order it!

Edited 4 years agoI'm a huge fan of middle eastern food I grew up in michigan surrounded by great authentic shawarma flavors so far living in florida havent seem to find a place to resemble that. Disappointing really I dont mind paying for amazing food but when its over priced and straight up nasty I have to say something about that i only took one bite of my sandwich and couldn't eat it very plain very dry small portions for the price I paid never again def would rather go to habibis in Jacksonville then this place

5 years agoI think the picture speaks for itself, I'll just add that the service was wonderful as well. Thank you for existing J Grill! Pictured: Falafel burger and Mezz plate (also came with pita - not pictured)... Great veggie options! Oh, and they have the best fries I've ever tasted!!

5 years agoHusband and I visited here for the first time yesterday looking to check out the Ormond Beach kosher (meat) restaurant scene. J Grill exceeded our expectations! Everything was delish and the service was great, too. We arrived when they first opened at noon (or so we thought, they actually open at 11:30 - Google needs to update the time), and were the first people there, so were able to pick a table outside and not worry about social distancing. Another couple arrived and sat at another table outside but they were far away enough that we were comfortable. We ordered the schnitzel strips (excellent!), I ordered the schwarma pita and my husband ordered the burger. It was way too much food in a good way, so much so that we were unable to finish our main dishes. I probably would have been fine with the appetizer split with the hubby and a salad but of course wanted schwarma since the last time I had it was in Israel in 2019. My pita must have been filled with 1/4 to a half a pound of schwarma - wow! My only complaint is that there wasn't enough Israeli salad in the pita compared to the amount of chicken, tahini, and hummus, and it could have used a few pickles. All that being said, we hope to make it back on our next visit, and eventually try the dairy place (JCafe) down the street too.

6 years agoThe food here was fantastic! A new location (only been open for 3 weeks!), it was beautifully updated and nicely decorated and lit inside. The hummus was fluffy and flavorful, the falafel crispy, the challah rueben was so yummy. It is Kosher so they don’t have any dairy there. I am not Kosher but I didn’t mind at all. I appreciated the fresh veggies and yummy pickles we got before our meal. And the wine from Israel (Cabernet) was fragrant and wonderful. Go give this new location some love!
