See All ReviewsNo complaints for this Jalisco on Scottsville road. Place looked great inside with the murals and neon signs everywhere. Bar area was small but has what is needed. Servers were helpful. Food was fast, hot, and delicious. My 4 street taco meal was delicious and just enough. Biting into the grilled jalapeño was a mistake lol I will be back.
Visited Jalisco Mexican Grill and Cantina for the soft-serve margaritas and they were really good! However, there was confusion with Taco Tuesday pricing and our order. The sign advertised $2 tacos, and we specifically asked for birria tacos since they were on the board, but we were served quesabirria tacos instead and charged $4 each. There were two of us, and both orders were placed together on one tray, which added to the confusion. We did receive a $3 discount after bringing it up, but it still felt misleading. Overall, great drinks, but definitely double-check your order and pricing.
I really wanted to enjoy this place, but the experience fell short. The biggest issue was the wait. We sat for almost 40 minutes before anyone took our order, and drinks took a long time to arrive. Refills were rare. There were only two servers working the entire restaurant, and they were also making drinks themselves because no one was behind the bar. Both of them looked exhausted and overwhelmed. To be clear, the servers were doing their best. They were running constantly and trying to keep up. The one star for service is not a reflection of them. It reflects the fact that the restaurant was clearly understaffed on a Friday night, which made the wait unreasonable. We were there about an hour before our food even arrived. Unfortunately, the food didn’t make up for the wait. Everything we ordered was extremely bland. The two people I was with only ate a few bites and didn’t even bother taking their meals home. I ordered something pretty basic, so it wasn’t easy to mess up, but it still lacked flavor. The tomatillo sauce was the best example. It had heat, but almost no flavor at all. I really hope management addresses the staffing issue and improves the seasoning in the kitchen, because the staff working there deserve more support than they’re getting.
