Food was okay. took forever to get. I ordered the oxtail dinner. l wouldn't go back but it's always good to try something different. maybe it'll be better for someone else
The food was so flav2rful, I actually waited a xtra 1/2 hr for my call in order because I knew it was worth my wait, on top of me already driving to get it. Lol ;)
I've been to Jamaican Paradise twice. I had a bad experience the first time but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, so I tried them again. The first time I went, I waited about 45 minutes for 2 dinners carry out. The meat for both dinners was ice cold!!! Which basically means the food was not fresh. I cut the young man who took my order some slack because it was busy that night but, he was nonchalant over the fact that I called just to let them know about the food. Because of marketing with groupon (which I did not use) and the radio, I recently decided to give them a second try. A longer wait this time, it was an hour wait. The meat was warm this time but guess what, it was old and it had more bones than meat. It pretty much looked like scraps of food. I clearly understand now that the wait time is clearly because the staff is unorganized with orders and you're basically waiting for them to make rice. The only thing "fresh" is the rice they make, which tastes like it's cooked in a used pot and it also has tiny bones in it which denotes an unclean pot. I honestly should have not even taken the food after waiting and hearing from a reliable source that they use day old meat and clearly that person was right because I had old food each time. They give a warm greeting but the staff is unorganized and cannot multi-task between carry-out and dine in guests. I will not waste my money and appetite here again.
Some of the best food I have ever had! If I could go over 5 stars I would. The food here is amazing and is full of flavor. Everything is cooked fresh and when you get it, it's nice and hot. I personally recommend the Fried Red Snapper. Full of flavor and taste amazing!
A group of married couples went to this restaurant, without reading the reviews and i must say, i'll never do that again. we arrived at 6pm (12 couples) and just to start the service was horrible, a little girl was bringing out our orders at a rate of 3 plates every hour and we were the only ones there the entire time. they didn't know who ordered what meals, our husbands in the restaurant was helping the little girl distribute the food to us cause they felt bad for her that she was carrying out this big serving tray on her shoulder. the food was horrible. i ordered the paradise chicken, which was just fried chicken, no favor with pineapples on top, some mac and cheese that tasted like it was cooked in the microwave yesterday and some plantanes that were greasy and limp. my husband after 3 hours never received his order of curry chicken so we just canceled it and left. others in our party did not receive their orders until after 2 1/2 hours. upon leaving we did not get an apology for the service, for not receiving our order and we had to wait again at the checkout counter because the guy that took the orders on a pad by hand couldn't read his own writing and he couldn't understand english well enough to look at the price list to get us cashed out. we had to wait for the little girl to come off the floor, handing out take home boxes to get checked out. to make a long story short - It was a restaurant nightmare, DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! IT IS OVER PRICED AND THE FOOD IS NASTY.
Horribly dissapointing. My wife and I came on a weeknight and were seated in their mostly empty dining room. We ordered an appetizer and two dinners. The next time our waitress came by, it was 40 minutes later when she told us the kitchen was backed up and they wouldn't be making our appetizer, but our dinners would be out soon. It was another half hour before she came back with the first of our dinners. She dropped it off and went back to the kitchen but never came back with the second meal. With no clue how much longer we were expected to wait, we gave them an additional 15 minutes before giving up and deciding to leave. My meal had gotten cold and my wife was starving. While explaining our concerns on the way out, we were not offered any apologies or explanation. We won't be back!
We had called ahead since there was a time discrepancy between a few sources and they said the opened at 6:30 today. It was a little strange when we came to the restaurant at 6:40Pm since the open sign wasn't on, but the door was open and we had called. It took some time to be greeted after standing awkwardly in the door. Once greeted it was all good things! Waitstaff was very nice, he suggested good things for everyone (our family of 5) to eat from the less adventurous to the vegetarian. The food was really good bold flavors and fresh ingredients. Speaking as the vegetarian I have been to a few of the veggie soul food places around and this veggie roast was top notch.
