I kinda miss the old Jay's in Niles, better draft beer options, and usually able to find a table or bar seat. Food is good enough, service is sometimes slow but reasonable. I am not a fan of all the reserved tables, had to leave because no seating available but there were maybe 10 empty tables with reserved signs.
My wife and I were visiting our son who attends Holy Cross in South Bend. We were staying at the Wyndam by Wingate South Bend. Jays II is connected to the hotel. Chris (manager) and his team provide friendly and excellent service with a smile. Chris is there helping and engaging with customers. The restaurant is always busy. We dined there multiple times or stopped by for a drink while in South Bend for 3 days. We've already made reservations at the same hotel for April visit. We will certainly dine at Jay's II.
The new location is so nice but hasn’t lost the bar feeling. Still the best food around and an amazing staff too. Be sure to check out the daily specials and entertainment options!
