This place does it right. Italian Hoagie 10/10
I recently bought a hoagie from Tony’s Hoagies at 2nd and Porter because a friend of mine used to bring them meetings not to far away.She said she couldn’t get to Rocco’s so she went to Tony’s. I told her about Jeannie’s. Tony’s were pretty good I was pretty hungry which helped. When I was eating the Hoagie I couldn’t help thinking I wish I had a Jeannie’s Hoagie plus I get to talk to Jimmy McAllister who owns it while his son Steve makes it. I know a lot of the regulars so I get to catch up on some of the news in S Philly. And Jimmy is one of funniest people on the planet. I don’t know why but his Liverwurst is the best I ever had and I lived in NYC. In the mornings I often would get a BLT also outstanding and the prices you have to ask twice because they are so cheap., 7 out of 10 times I will get a coffee and sometimes to go and eat the sandwich and drink the coffee in Marconi Park a mere 10 minute walk. This Joint is a WINNER
