a month agoWe have been coming to Jim’s for several years but yesterday may be our last. Looked like the entire staff was new… waitress acted nervous and we waited 50 minutes for our food. We had to ask several times why it was taking so long. When they finally brought our food, they said that it had accidentally been ordered as takeout so it had been in the to go area. Our french fries were barely warm. They forgot hush puppies we had to ask for them. My husband asked if my granddaughter could get a piece of pie for no charge since it took so long to get our food and the waitress said of course. And she asked if I wanted pie and I said yes I would get a slice, but when we went to pay, she said that only my granddaughters was no charge. It was not a good experience.

a month agoFirst time here right off the bat atmosphere friendly welcoming. Ordered to go. Food not the freshest, pork was good, ribs more fat than meat, brisket and chicken both very dried out. BBQ sauce was good, baked potatoe excellent, peach cobbler was ok some of the peaches were unripe made for a tasteless peach. They had a steady flow of clients who seemed to know the wait staff so it could just be an off night or my taste buds were looking for some fresher juicy brisket/chicken.

a month agoThe staff was great. The food was terrible. Tasted like the bbq was cooked in the oven. No smoke. In fact there wasn’t even the smell of bbq cooking. , ribs the size of my finger, dry, almost like jerky, brisket tasteless, chicken fried steak obviously frozen and gravy tasted like flour. Catfish also very small. Baked beans were not good. Super disappointing. The food was truly bad. Will never return.

3 months agoHighly Don't Suggest the Bar-B-Que!! Spent $22.44 last night and Both Meats tasted like lighter fluid,like you use on charcoal!! Potato salad was So bland,the roll Was the Only thing edible!! Makes you wonder just how long these people have been in service. But at this rate...it won't be long till they run themselves outta business. But it's my own fault, another customer warned me,but only after I ordered and paid!! Won't Make That Mistake.... Again!!

8 months agoSpotted this place while taking a detour in my truck and they have a huge dirt lot easy to get in and out of which is great. The food was really good and the portions were good for the price. I got the three meats and two sides meal. I’ll definitely stop by again whenever I’m in the area

9 months agoGreat food, the staff is very friendly and "real" unlike in Shreveport, seem like very good people I will be coming back from Shreveport the sliced brisket was exquisite

Edited a year agoHaving been referred to us as a "Really Good" place to eat, we ventured in for dinner. Just off the hiway, you pull in the plentiful parking area to a dated box shaped building with windows from roof to chair rail on three sides. A sign with Jim's BBQ over the entrance welcomed us in. Upon entering, a staff member welcomed us and seated us. I stated this was our first visit, and the young man was nice enough to explain the top sellers, local favorites, and hearty meals. After deciding, I ordered the cajun four piece catfish with sweet tea while my husband ordered the combo plate of three meats and a cola. Our beverages came quickly with our meals following shortly thereafter. All the items were at the proper temperatures and tasted very well. The four catfish filets were rather small for the price with the food served on styrofoam. A big eco. negative in my book! The interior was set with 70's laminate booths around the outside and 70's laminet top tables in the center. The country western decor was dated and sun faded. I will say the best feature this place has is the staff. Everyone we spoke with was genuinely friendly, outgoing, and helpful. Not one rolled their eyes, if a mistake was made, that person claimed it, apologized, corrected it immediately, and made the customer feel important! That alone deserves our business!
