3 weeks agoJohnnie's is definitely my go to spot for soul food. They serve tasty soul food from inside of a clean and friendly environment that is welcoming to people from every race creed and culture. The food is served fresh and hot and gets a 10 out of 10 for taste and seasoning. The chitterlings are clean and the Spanish lady in the back knows what she's is doing in the kitchen!🔥🔥

3 months agoOver priced food. Oxtails were ok. Rice mushy Mac and cheese lacking seasoning, and no real greeting. Cashier was rather rude no greeting the only time she spoke was to day the price and what drink do you want. I heard good things about johnies but my experience was awful.

6 months agoOK, let’s start by it being Monday morning November 24, 2025 at 7:30 AM. I called to ask a simple question I can tell bad energy whether it’s on the phone or in person but mind you if you don’t like working or if you’re made to work, then you should not be in Customer Service. I don’t care what type of job it is. The young girl answered the phone I could tell she did not want to be at work today. That’s not my problem. Secondly I asked a simple question, by it being almost Thanksgiving. I wanted to doublecheck on a certain food item.. She begins to get smart then she realize my tone into the phone and then she calmed down . first of all I will not be purchasing From this location at all, I need something done about her answering that phone. Maybe she should be in the back frying chicken or cleaning floors I don’t know. But again, if you don’t want to work, stay at home or find another occupation, Missy!!!!!!

8 months agoFirst time eating here. Im giving 2 stars because the place was very clean and the service was good. I got regular turkey wings, they aren’t smothered but sitting high on top of a clear broth. They are EXTRA BLAND! Only pretty. At 6:15pm they are out of every vegetable and only have corn and rice. I got double rice. Rice is sticky like comet, not uncle bens or parboiled, no flavor. I asked for brown gravy on the rice and turkey, gravy is tasteless. Its so bland that I am shocked! I will go back again to try something else, this aint it 🖐️ The tea is delicious, hushpuppies ok, wish it was a choice for a roll.

9 months agoThis was my first time coming and I must say I wasn’t disappointed at all the food is a 10/10 the prices are affordable the people was very nice listen if you haven’t tried it please go support

9 months agoThe food at Johnnie’s is straight-up soul food heaven. It took me right back to my grandma’s kitchen—seasoned just right, tender meats, and sides that hit the spot. That stew beef? So good you’ll want to smack ya momma! 😂 If you’re anywhere near Wilson, NC, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won’t regret it. 🔥🔥🔥

11 months agoI drove to and was anticipating eating at Sylvia’s Restaurant, but her business was closed. I then looked up soul food nearby and saw Johnie’s. Upon arrival there was no greeting at all. The server was pleasant but considering the price for plates there she did not put a fair amount of servings on the plate. The lady with the bad wig who puts the drinks in the bag was very cold, DID NOT ENGAGE or smile at all with us and was very hesitant about answering questions. As an individual who have been working directly with customers for years now, I am very aware that when it comes to great customer service it is KEY to your business. It also plays a huge part in customer returns and referrals. The person that you currently have in place is the absolute wrong person to be closing the sale out and collecting the MONEY. If she continues this way, it will not help your business to have repeat customers and you WILL LOSE REVENUE. Talk with and train her to do better or replace her immediately. By the way, the food was decent but I will never return because unfortunately first impressions last. I have already shared my experience with some of my friends and family and will tell them all about the poor customer service experience that I had at your restaurant.
