See All ReviewsI’ve ordered from this restaurant two months ago for the first time & the food quality was awful my chicken was dry & flavored less kinda tasted a tab bit of raw ness & my sides was nasty too, no flavor to those either. Food seem like it was left overs from the previous day & when I called to confront the restaurant the cook or manager got mouthy with me and hung up on me. Eat at you’re own risk!!!!
The soulfood take on a traditional Coney Island is delicious! The Soul Rolls are worth the trip and wait. They are fried golden with delicious fillings like Lemon Chicken Pepper and "sides" only (Mac & Cheese, collards, and cornbread). You can also order additional sides. So tasty!
There's nothing Joyful about the food that they have the nerve to sell or the quality of service that the staff gives to the food and customers. I gave them the benefit of doubt and ordered from there two times and both times had the same result. 1st time I ordered a whiting fish dinner with sweet potatoes, greens and a extra side of macaroni and cheese. The fish looked great but was reheated in a microwave it was overcooked dry and hard, the sides were the same. The macaroni and cheese was in it's own container and it was cooked so long the shape was disfigured and the macaroni and cheese reduced leaving a ring layer of dried cheese and it was tough and rubbery. Someone kept telling me they have good food and must of had a bad day when I ordered. So I thought about it and decided to give them another try. My 2nd order was 2 soul rolls and 1 side combo for $15.99. I ordered a King side roll, Jamaican jerk chicken roll and fried okra. Total with delivery $19.78. The order took almost 2 hours to come. I opened it and it was not what I ordered. I had to look at the menu to find out what it was and it was 2 Nashville hot chicken rolls and overcooked onion rings. Then to top it off they billed me a extra $6.45 just for the hell of it. The roll had some nasty sauce poured on it causing it to be wet and soggy instead of hard and crispy like a egg roll should be. I called and got no answer. I'm a great cook and I have to have my food prepared like it was ordered, cooked and served with quality control and service. I wouldn't give a dog the food that I got served with from Joyful's Koney Island. If you like to eat that kind of food you're missing out on food that taste good but it also makes you happy. The food that they serve pisses me off.
