See All ReviewsAte here for dinner tonight really good all the way around food to service to atmosphere give this place a chance most places I have ate in gretna are horrible have been visiting this town for over a year now from Ohio so good job Mexican restaurant!!!!!!definitely will be returning!!!! So glad we gave it a try we were very skeptical!!!!!!
I'm sorry, I hate to say it, but it's just not good. I always get Texas Fajitas, no matter what Mexican restaurant. It's a standard dish, basically cooked at high heat with simple ingredients. Not a lot of room to mess it up. But, messing up, they did. Small portions, very dry. Had a strange orange red color to it. Texas fajitas are onions, peppers, shrimp, steak and chicken. Simple, but delicious when cooked properly, so there is no need for artificial enhancements. Jose's Texas Fajitas had a very unnatural color. Guacamole? Yeah, also, not good. I think the avocado was fresh, just no flavor. A squeeze of lime, a little garlic would've been super. Sadly, the service was impeccable. Very friendly, unlike ElCazador (rude) and clean. The food was just simply not good.
Moved from California to the east coast and this restaurant was such a surprise to find. The rice was just like back in Cali. Order the larger size guacamole. You'll wish you did. Don't be afraid to ask for no cheese sauce if you want more authentic Mexican food. They've got sopes now too! Can't believe this restaurant was in such a small town. TRY THEM! Oh and the staff was friendly and quick.
