I've tried to get a burger from this place 3 times in the last week and the deli is always closed. No matter what time I call. Really aggravating.
Great market, great prices, great people!
Judices still go the best plate lunches , cracklins , fresh sausage and seasoning but the boudin aint what it was and that breaks my heart . But the plate lunches is a huge delicious serving !
Hog head cheese still number 1, but they are ripping people off selling 2 single slices up 5 and 6 dollars new owners doing what they do best place has gone down if it wouldn't be for the staff in the back they would be closed down
This place has gone down hill fast. Not the same. The last few months food no longer taste good. Then drove 6 hours from Dallas area. Was very upset.
I travel from the Houston area for boudin and the taste is no longer there. For years myself, my family and friends loved it . They would send me with money and a cooler and I looked forward to the trip. Instead of it being made in house like it was for years it’s being processed because I have gone in the store to be told we haven’t got any in yet. That’s new ownership trying to make it faster and not caring quality just quantity. It’s a shame
Today my husband and his friend decided to get a burger from this place since they work near this location. Tell me why his friend found a writing pen spring in his burger! He called the manager to complain about it and they told him he was lying. Bad customer service and deadly food (Smh) that’s just wrong but I will make sure every platform knows that you guys don’t take accountability. If they were lying then what is this!?
I lived on 7th street as a child and grew up on their boudin. The place has lost its charm and food has lost its quality. We visited yesterday on 3/16/25 to buy boudin. Upon entering, we were greeted with a "wall of thieves" sign along with grainy pictures of suspects. Welcome home. Now onto what we came in for, boudin. This is my fifth trip within the last 7 years going back to Port Arthur to get Boudin. We keep hoping the boudin quality would somehow return but it keeps disappointing each time. Boudin rice is either mushy or uncooked. It was around 2PM and there was no hot boudin. The cook asked us to wait and she heated 4 links. This time, rice was mushy which I suppose is more edible than uncooked. The flavor is still there, which is good. Shelves were empty and the freezers holding ice cream were out of order. Owners need to pump in some investment or throw in the towel.
