Karen's is easily one of the best places to grab authentic Mexican food in Itasca. The food is absolutely the star of the show and deserves a full 5 stars. Everything tastes homemade, fresh, and packed with flavor. The homemade tortillas are incredible and make every meal even better. If you're visiting for breakfast, the breakfast burritos are a must-try, and the brisket tacos are some of the best I've had in the area. The service was good overall, earning about 4 stars in my opinion. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and while there was a bit of a wait during a busy time, everyone worked hard to make sure customers were taken care of. They created a comfortable and family-friendly experience. The atmosphere is also a solid 4 stars. It's a casual, local restaurant with a relaxed and authentic feel rather than a fancy dining experience. It's the kind of place enjoy a great meal, and feel like you're supporting a hometown business. Overall, if you're looking for authentic Mexican food in Itasca, Karen's is definitely worth the stop. The homemade tortillas, breakfast burritos, and brisket tacos alone are enough to keep me coming back, and I highly recommend giving them a try as well as there Green salsa!!
LOVEEE their burritos. There tortillas are the bomb! I drench my burritos in their green sauce it’s so good! The inside is a little rough looks wise, but don’t let it scare you away! You can tell their food is made with love. It’s a nice home-y feeling.
The brisket and bean burrito and their red salsa are amazing!
You would never stop here if you didn't know about this diamond in the rough. But every time I stay at my friend's house nearby we make a stop for breakfast burritos. Quick, fast and tasty. Our favorite is the chorizo, tastes just like when you make it at home.
This is the best burritos in Texas. The tortilla are homemade and the best I’ve ever had I can’t really say more than that. Whatever you wanted out of a burrito you get it here. The brisket potato egg and cheese with some green sauce is perfection. It may be high priced though but for the quality you get what you pay for.
I really enjoy.their breakfast burritos. But they are supposed to be open until 2:00. I tried calling around 1:15 on Friday, July, 18th and no one answered. So I drovre up at 1:30. But they were closed with no sign on the door as to why they closed early. I hope they aren't closing.
Cute small building with no seating. Tacos were decent, and hot sauce was good. Minus 1 star because I dislike having to repeat myself so much to be heard. It makes my anxiety worse.
Used to come in here more often than I do to get burritos. Everything is handmade, and when there isn't anybody else around you can watch them make your food. I always feel great after coming in here. Great food, great service!
