We were wow by the shrimp tempura, they use big shrimp, each bite tastes the shrimp sweetness and crunchy texture, not like other store where shrimp hold more flour coating than the shrimp! The Rosu fried pork and cheese fried pork tastes crispy and not greasy at all, very satisfying! We also order curry added, out of expectation, it came with ground meat in the curry and the curry blends well with the rice. The portion for fried pork is big per person. The potato croquettes is not as good as the shrimp, it tastes more greasy than other dishes. We would definitely love to come back next time! It might be crowded during dinner hour, remember to make reservations!
First time at Kazone and really first time ever trying Katsu in the DMV area. I love that none of the food although fried felt heavy or greasy. The cheese katsu was gooey, the chicken was so good and the pork wasn't dry so that was nice! All three katsu sauces were delicious, savory, and spicy (the wasabi one and spicy was one was my favorite) Next time I'm definitely trying the chili katsu one. The servers were quiet, checked in on you and recommended me trying the combo and thoroughly explained the complex flavors of the Chili one. The restaurant was on the smaller end but beautifully decorated, definitely will come again when craving good battered fried food.
5 stars every time. The food is always so good, and the quality is consistently amazing. My favorites are the chicken katsu and cheese katsu — both are so flavorful and satisfying. What makes the experience even better is the service. Everyone is always so kind, welcoming, and attentive, which really makes the restaurant feel comfortable and enjoyable to visit. Definitely one of my favorite donkatsu spots!
I’m half Japanese and lived in Japan for over 20 years, so this place really reminded me of my hometown in Osaka. The katsu and tonkotsu ramen were excellent! I was curious whether the owner learned how to make these dishes in Japan because the flavors felt truly authentic. This is definitely a hidden gem for authentic Japanese food in Centreville!
This is total hidden gem in Centreville. Friendly owner and staff. Prompt attention to customers. Curious explanation of all the foods and sauces. Must try! I had chicken karaage, donkatsu special and miso ramen. They were all great and perfectly cooked. Donkatsu was crispy outside but so tender, it melts in your mouth.
Large portions of katsu that are good. I tried the regular katsu and combo katsu as well as the ramen. The pork katsu is crispy and chewy. The chicken katsu was a bit mushy. The corn cheese was sweet and salty. We had to wait around 25 mins for seats on a weekend lunch time.
First time at Kazone and I loved it! We came during lunch and it was quite busy, but the service was quick and we didn’t have to wait long for a table. Everything we ordered was delicious and the vibe inside was great for a nice, relaxing meal. Our server was very friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back and can’t wait to try more from the menu. Highly recommend!
Current fave spot for katsu in nova! A pretty intimate space with limited seating, but they have a pretty quick turnaround for orders. They have a pretty large menu with some classic Japanese favorites and comfort foods. My go-to is the Rosu Katsu, thei specialty! Sunday night around 5pm is a good sweet spot for dinner, but it'll start getting busy from there!
