2 months agoThis has been the worst black owned restaurant I've been to. The food wasn't good at all the pound cake is very dry the turkey tips taste like delicious turkey, the Mac and cheese is bland with a flour after taste. I spoke to the so called manager and he has very poor bed side manner, rude, and very combative. He was not giving me a refund because I didn't like the taste or quality of the food. Got hainty because I asked him not to call me baby and told me since my husband bought my food to have him to come to the restaurant for a refund . When my husband got there he told his staff to say he wasn't there. This food is not good

3 months agoFood is terrible. Catfish was large could’ve been good but wasn’t cooked through. Mac and cheese was overcooked and tasted salty. I’m not sure how you get salty Mac and cheese. Yams weren’t cooked properly some were hard. Wasn’t candied.

5 months agoLarge rib tip was AMAZING, talk about juicy,tender, and plenty of sauce! Wish there were more fries given how much sauce there was, but I am grateful to have more rib tips than fries, a lot of places trick u with alot of fries.This is my second time having it and it has not missed. Exceeded my expectations, good barbecue is hard to find ! Price was very reasonable given 2 large orders was less than $40. I have heard good things about the pot roast and meat loaf, I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.me and Me and my husband sat outside the restaurant 15 minutes eating because it was so good 🤣

8 months agoI ordered the 2 pork chops with Mac and cheese and sweet potatoes to be delivered. Even with the distance and Another order from another location, my food was still hot. The pork chops are seasoned down to the bone. Sweet potatoes are just right, and the mac and cheese is cheesing. Will definitely order again.

10 months agoI travel for work so I did my normal google review. They had good reviews, my motto is anything under 4 I don't go 🤣. Anyway the customer service was great the young lady even offered to let me sample some cabbage since I told her it was my favorite and that I hadn't had it in a few years because I'm scared certain veggies isn't real any. I can honestly say my food was great. I got Pork Chops ,cabbage and yams. Very good. I'd definitely recommend this establishment 👍🏾

a year agoSupporting small businesses is important. It's supporting the impossible, hope and dreams of your neighboor, their family, and community. Came just after 1p on a Friday. Seen a few vehicles whip up and whip out. CLEARLY A TAKE OUT concept. Packed in Styrofoam and dinners come with extra care to separate sides from main entrée (meat). Be mindful of the temp of your food as the containers and resturant setup don't allow necessarily for the dig in unless your prepared to eat in vehicle and or your delivery is timely. I am in general up for a car/truck picnic all the time. As soon as food was ready, I did just that, dug in. I opted for a veggie plate which included four sides of choice. THEY offer a variety of true vegetable sides ( I cannot speak to if any vegan, however many options for those avoiding meat or eggs, or for those who don't have restrictions). I was disappointed that none of my sides were hot, let alone warm. THE BLACK EYE PEAS (white rice comes underneath) cooked to perfection! Seasoned simply, and allowed for the flavor of the food to shine. Cabbage, it was tender and thicker stems retained a bit of texture which i like. Also the seasoning subtle, probably some butter in there. The greens weren't for my taste or flavor preference. Vinegar is common, however just wasn't there for me, also the greens were spotted black in many workouts, which turned me off. The pieces were cut well, and cooked well to retain perfect texture. Mashed potatoes with gravy. POTATOES didnot seem like homemade because sooo smooth and uniformley white. Decent flavor and gravy tasty, however as mentioned there wasn't any sufficient heat, and mashed potatoes to me ate best enjoyed hot! Spouse had 2 dinners. 2 porkchop meal (since between 1 chop and 2 was a few dollar difference) with spaghetti and macaroni and cheese. Pleasantly breaded, seasoned and cooked. Spaghetti lacked visible meat, had a decent flavor. Macaroni was disappointing, mushy and I have had better stove top, someone else might love this , didn't meet her expectations of a baked Macaroni and cheese. Also, she got jerk chicken wings dinner with dressing (cranberry) and sweet potatoes. The jerk unlike other reviews, was perfectly authenticly season, however the meat dry (kind of expected as it's jerk wings, would have preferred dark meat, however the option was unavailable) dressing grits and flavor not great. Sweet potatoes were great in texture and flavor. You go in to order expectations to wait outside. They will give you a beeper to come back in. There is not a customer restaurant. There is plenty of street parking. At about $14 a meal with no sitting or dine in, ensure your every guest is getting your best all the time. Food comes out correctly, together and at temperature standard, especially your a to go only option and serve in containers that do not allow for reheating. Also got a cobbler, it was ok. PC 11/30? SO IS THAT Peach Cobbler 11/30 as in discard by 11/30? Flavors in there, just didn't seem well blended. Would go back. Worth a 30 minute drive and $15 a plate, Food was fresh and cannot get that real food nutrients everywhere.

a year agoFood is so good and worth the trip. Outstanding customer service, cashier was very helpful with the menu and even helped a disable man to his car.👍 Catfish, chicken wings and lamb chops were seasoned so good, didn’t need to add the sauce that came with it. Candied yams, collard greens & baked beans were also good. However the small amount of gravy over white rice was not enough, and the muffin was sweet but dry. There’s a wait after ordering because they cook it fresh, but worth it.😋 Overall I will definitely return to try something else. Thanks!
