One of the great things about Houston is the variety of international cuisines you can find in the city. Kenz is a highly rated restaurant thanks to its authentic Egyptian offerings. Every selection is filled with authentic ingredients that delivers tasty flavors. Come to this restaurant if you want to experience a new international cuisine done the right way. I strongly recommend the Egyptian hot tea, the Kofta beef, the classic Falafel, and the Koshary main dish.
We had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent overall. Chicken was a bit dry and the foul needed other condiments to it. Lamb shank was very moist and not gamy. The Koshary was amazing. The desserts were all good. We had the Kunafa, Oum Ali and the rice pudding. It's just a little pricey for the type of food, but it is in the Galleria so you can't blame them. Overall a good experience.
This is a great place with Vegan and Vegetarian options. For my families first time trying Egyptian food, we were very impressed with the quality of the meat and the flavor in the rice. We ordered: - Appetizer Combo - the hummus and babbbagnoush were fresh and the falafel was perfectly cooked and moist with a good crunch - Yellow Rice Platter with Beef Shawarma (5/5) - Khoshary (4/5) - wish the noodles and pasta were a bit more al dente - Kufta Plate (5/5) - the skewer was nice and juicy - Cairo Burger (5/5) the fries were seasoned and the burger was still smoking hot when it came out to the table Mayar, our sever was very kind and attentive, gave us great recommendations, and even gave us some hot water for our mint tea at the end of our meal right before we left. Great place for lunch on a Saturday afternoon!
